Elaine Hendrix’s Beauty In The Parent Trap Was Insane

On the rare occasion that I contribute to the beauty stories for this issue, I find myself thinking about Elaine Hendrix. For those of you who don’t know who she is, it is no matter. She was the iconic actress who played the character Meredith in the 1998 remake of the film ‘The Parent Trap’. Yes, the one with Lindsay Lohan as the star. I watched the film about two weeks ago, and was so mesmerised by her look when she was sitting at the pool. The model when she meets Lindsay’s character for the first time.

Then a few minutes later in the film, she goes on a camping trip to get to know Nick and the children better. Her hiking kit was so fashion forward and sleek it’s unbelievable. But enough about the fashion because I could go on about that for days.

Meredith Blake was the young entrepreneur who was looking to marry Nick and inherit his winery. She was ambitious and beautiful and my God did she know it! It has been noted in the history books that red lipstick tend to send men crazy. To be fair anything on a woman would make a man go crazy, but let’s not be cynical. Meredith (Elaine Hendrix) always had her hair in that Old Hollywood Glamour style. She wore light foundation and kept her face very simple. The only pop of colour she ever wore was her lipstick.

When it comes to beauty, there are a lot of little features that help to bring the look together. Elaine Hendrix’s character always wore gold jewellery and had red nails. A dangerous liaison from inception! When her trusty locks didn’t fall by her shoulders, she put it up in a chic bun.

This idea of beauty is one that I understand all too well. As a lover of fashion first and then beauty, I try to create a look. I don’t want all of the attention on my face because I’m bringing more to the table than that. I want he jewellery, hair, outfit, shoes and bag to all look like a Christmas present. Considering Meredith’s style was traditional and nothing special, it was very form-fitting. Meredith brought the fun with her makeup. Elaine Hendrix played one of the most iconic beautiful and ambitious character’s of all time.
