A date is finally set for one of the biggest nights in fashion: The 2022 Fashion Awards will take place on December 5th. Year after year, the event provides a star-studded red carpet and an array of looks as the industry celebrates those in the business.
What does the 2022 Fashion Awards Have in Store?
This year’s event is said to celebrate “fashion at the intersection of culture”. As the British Fashion Council stated on Instagram:
“Celebrating the role of fashion in self-expression, escapism and optimism and its positioning at the intersection of culture, the night is an opportunity for the creative community to come together to acknowledge positive change within the industry and those leading it.”
2022’s Fashion Awards will return to The Royal Albert Hall to honour this year’s nominees, who span every corner of the industry. However, the event’s purpose is not only to celebrate the achievements of those in the fashion industry but also to serve as a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council Foundation. The BFC Foundation supports the growth of the British fashion industry. Importantly, as an organisation, they provide education, mentoring, and grants for budding creators.
The British Fashion Council announced this year’s nominees and the winner of the Special Recognition Award for Cultural Curation. The winner is none other than Jefferson Hack, the co-founder of Dazed Media. Hack’s work has produced some of the biggest fashion media brands within the industry, including Dazed and AnOther Magazine. So, he is a well-deserved individual to be honoured at this year’s awards.
The Fashion Awards stated:
“Hack is directly responsible not only for curating culture but building bigger futures for so many people he crosses paths with.”
The winners of the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator and the Outstanding Achievement Award remain under wraps. They will claim their titles in the run-up to the ceremony. However, the Fashion Awards released their nominee lists for the night itself.
The 2022 Fashion Awards Nominations are As Follows:

The nominee lists have already caused quite a buzz within the industry. Following their release, conversations and conspiracies on the guest list, after-parties and potential winners have flooded the fashion world.
Will Pierpaolo Piccioli be recognised for his PP Pink collection that took over red carpets and front pages alike, or will the Fashion Awards favour the gothic yet futuristic direction that Demna took Balenciaga in this past year? Will Adut Akech win Model of the Year for the second time in a row, or will Bella Hadid’s viral model moments secure her that title? Maybe they will favour newcomer Lila Moss? Her mother, Kate Moss, is no stranger to the Fashion Awards, even receiving a Special Recognition award in 2013 for her contribution to the industry during her long-spanning career.
For now, we can only excitedly speculate. However, all will be revealed next month alongside an array of red-carpet fashion looks from the best in the business.
