Mugler Pre-Fall Is Shocking and Everything We Have Ever Wanted

Expensive, eclectic, and eccentric are plastered amongst the divine artistry of Mugler’s Pre-Fall 24 shoot. If there is anything sultry and shocking, I will definitely address it! I love everything that showcases editorial, sex and promiscuity. Mugler always pulls collections made to empower, and I am living for their off-season pre-fall 2024 collection. Featured as an editorial photoshoot, the daunting and daring outfits are laid beautifully as a cohesive set of garments. Let’s dive into the details!

Sex Becomes Couture

Mugler is a brand that overflows with luxury, expense and high fashion couture, releasing many garments that portray models as alluring and confident. That’s all anyone wants, right? To feel sexy and exuberant through the clothes they wear. This entire line spills pure desire and gender liberation. If sex wanted to become couture it’d ask for permission from this collection.

The photographic and editing expertise painted a glorious picture of crafted garments. The pictures heavily highlight the importance of beauty and glamour through the angles, poses and clothing. Editorials allow for creative freedom and consistent tweaking and retouching of ideas. Undoubtedly, the directors of this shoot had a clear image and theme for every individual photo, and they paid attention to every detail. I can see these pictures strewn across a glossy magazine, front page and all! I’m in awe of the artistry curated across every image and outfit.

Mugler, Latex and Deep Colours

Blood orange bleeding into deep reds and grading into black allows for a non-traditional black, white or grey backdrop. This shoot is the very opposite of plain and every synonym of seductive. Not to mention the hands! As if the backdrop is melting latex, the eerie grasp of hands almost holds a deeper meaning to the visual pleasures of the shoot. Latex is not a stranger to Mugler, and it’s a predictably striking material featured across many collections, including this one. Reflection and glimmer play with the camera and allow for continuous gloss amongst multiple images, which is more than pleasing to the eye.

Constructions and shapes of the clothing hold a wide variety of versatile yet similar themes. All adhere to the collaborative black, red and brown colour palette but divide themselves by style and accessory. Black will never be overused or last season; there is so much material within dark and opaque shades, and we are lucky enough to experience Mugler’s take on the chic colour. Danger and power are my personal feelings from this shoot, as the images convey such deep and emotional thoughts. Deep reds and daunting blacks strike the eye and allow us to feel the rage and statement they are used to portray.

Androgyny and Inclusivity

Gender is blind and non-conforming throughout this collection, and the expressions and poses of models show it beautifully. Androgyny is a desirable feature in the modern day as it is deemed relatable and inclusive to anyone who dares to wear such couture. If only I could afford it!

The group of visuals definitely brings justice to the idea and collection as a whole, embracing the concept and allowing us to adore the composition. This shoot is a gorgeous tease in between seasons. Even though Mugler decided not to sell it to the runway, they produced the photoshoot to show deeper direction and style.

Mugler never misses attempts to satisfy and is definitely a brand to watch continuously. As one of my favourites, I consistently enjoy reviewing and exploring the company’s latest garments, runways, and editorials. It is easy to take inspiration from such a sultry and formal line, and I will definitely take away some of the ideologies that have been conspired by this artwork.
