Dolce and Gabbana Delivers One Of The Best Fashion Looks At The 2024 Golden Globes
The 2024 Golden Globes got this year’s award season off to a controversial start. From sexist jokes to lip-reading scandals, we saw it all. But amongst the chaos, incredible fashion paved the way for the award season ahead.
Elle Fanning
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Pierre Balmain
Elle Fanning brought literal vintage glamour to the Golden Globes red carpet in archival Pierre Balmain. Channelling her former and current roles as Aurora in Disney’s Maleficent and Catherine the Great in The Great, Fanning looked nothing short of regal in the off-white ballgown. While the gown may be archival, it is extremely on-trend, featuring a large bow across the bust, just further evidence that trends come back around.

Hunter Schafer
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Prada
The wind was a paid actor.
Hunter Schafer is one of my best-dressed celebrities, full stop. But her Prada look at the Golden Globes blew me away (no pun intended). Now, do I think this dress would have had the same impact had it not been an abnormally windy day in LA? No. But do I believe that Mother Nature herself conjured up the perfect weather for this specific moment? Maybe.

Natalie Portman
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Dior Couture
While we are never shocked to see Natalie Portman in Dior, she has been a brand ambassador for the French fashion house since 2011. After all, the looks can still excite us. Being a brand ambassador for the same designer for 13 years means that the look, while beautiful, can feel a little repetitive. This look, however, felt like something I had never seen before. The colourful floral gown was distinctly Dior, but the artistic feel to it was really refreshing.Â

Ayo Edebri
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Prada
The People’s Princess was not only a Golden Globe winner but also a red carpet winner. The Bear star wore a Prada red satin column dress featuring a floor-length train. I loved that this look remained youthful whilst being elegant, and it captured Ayo’s fun spirit. The bright shade of red was extremely flattering, and Ayo was glowing the entire night.Â

America Ferrera
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Dolce and Gabbana
This choice was a bit of a shock for me. I don’t usually find myself overly drawn to Dolce & Gabanna looks on the red carpet, and while this dress wasn’t revolutionary, it was one of my favourites of the night. I felt it was so well suited to America Fererra and was fun and sparkly without being too much. This look has firmly placed Dolce & Gabbana on my radar. Consider this girl converted.

Kylie Jenner
2024 Golden Globes Choice: Hanae Mori
While Kylie opted out of the red carpet, what I have seen of her look was incredible. Her backless gown was 1998 Hanae Mori, and the mixture of sheer lace and intricate beading made for a perfect amount of glamour without being overstated. On the same theme, Kylie’s makeup was minimal, natural and youthful, a look I have loved on her recently. With an undone low-bun to complete the look, keeping the plunging low back on full display, the look was complete, and I can’t fault it.
