Miley Cyrus Named One Of The Best Dressed Celebrities at the 2024 Grammy Awards
On February 5th, the Crypto Arena in Downtown LA hosted the biggest night in the music industry: the 2024 Grammy Awards. The event featured many talented women and fantastic fashion, two of our favourite things at SSEDITORIAL. While the focus of the night was on the winners and losers, it’s always a treat to see what the stars decide to wear. Gucci seemed to be the most popular choice for the red carpet style. However, that doesn’t mean they dressed all the best stars. Let’s take a look back at the fashion from one of the music’s biggest nights out.
Miley Cyrus
2024 Grammy Choice: Gucci
This may be a spoiler, but Miley Cyrus was my best dressed of the night. With five outfit changes, this will not be her last appearance on this list. The star accepted her Grammy for Record of the Year in a chocolate brown custom Gucci gown. Miley has a history of her avant-garde, sexy looks, and this look was (literally) made for her. By this point, society has become accustomed to backless dresses, they simply don’t hold the same shock value as the once did.
Miley must have known this and decided to opt for a ‘side-less’ look instead. Sabato designed the sequinned asymmetric gown held together by the tiniest strip of material across the left side, a refreshing evolution from the backless or plunging v-neck trends that we have seen in the past. Miley paired the gown with the sky-high hair she had been sporting the whole night, an elaborate feather boa and a Gucci Bamboo 1947 handbag, which all came together to create my favourite night look.

Sofia Richie-Grainge
2024 Grammy Choice: Saint Laurent
Sofia Richie-Grainge is still the woman of the moment and the figurehead for ‘quite luxury’. In line with this, the it-girl took to the Grammys red carpet in a chic caped dress by Saint Laurent. The sleek look was made complete with minimal makeup and a slick-back bun. I think it’s safe to say that Richie-Grainge is successfully filling Rihanna’s shoes as the current maternity fashion inspiration.

Halle Bailey
2024 Grammy Choice: Gucci
Halle Bailey is still keeping her mermaid-themed looks going following her role as Ariel in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, but this look steered far from the more Disney-appropriate looks from the press tour. Nominated for her song ‘Angel,’ Bailey wore a shimmering ‘naked dress’ by Gucci that resembled the shimmering scales of a mermaid’s tail.
The form-fitting gown was paired with loose mermaid-esque waves and a delicate diamond drop necklace. While I don’t have a single criticism for this look, my favourite detail has to be the crystal droplets that hung from the bottom of the gown, giving the dress an almost wet look. As the latest brand ambassadors for Gucci, I think we are about to see a lot of amazing looks from the Bailey sisters.

Miley Cyrus
2024 Grammy Choice: Bob Mackie
Miley’s performance of ‘Flowers’ was one of my personal highlights from the whole night, partly due to her lyric change from “I can buy myself flowers” to “I just won my first Grammy” and partly because of her vintage Bob Mackie look. The dress consisted of a bralette top that was connected to a sequinned fringe skirt. The look was from Mackie’s 2002 collection, ‘To Broadway With Love,’ which was inspired by musical theatre, an apt look for the former Disney Channel star. With this in mind, it’s safe to say that this felt like a full-circle moment.

Blue Ivy Carter
2024 Grammy Choice: Vivienne Westwood
Blue Ivy Carter is certainly taking after her mother and paving her way to fashion royalty. The twelve-year-old has slowly been stepping into the spotlight in recent years, especially after blowing us all away with her appearance at Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour. This increase in exposure has come hand-in-hand with some amazing fashion.
Blue Ivy took to the stage with her father (and music royalty), Jay-Z, while he received the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award in a custom Vivienne Westwood ensemble. The gown was distinctly Vivienne Westwood, featuring the late designer’s signature corsetry and draping associated with her bridal collections. The look was accessorised with an off-white clutch and a pair of white leather boots. While this may not have been my choice of shoe, I think this kept the look youthful and fun.
