Keeping your hair looking its best is the easiest way to maintain a polished, well-put-together facade. But it can be challenging, especially if you try to do so on a budget! Building a good haircare routine is surprisingly tricky. We may even end up not entirely satisfied with our manes.
As with many things, throwing money at the problem can be tempting. But (as with many beauty products), sometimes money equals results. Sure, there are expensive hair products that are fabulous. But nothing quite compares to the true joy of finding an affordable gem that transforms your haircare routine.
There are tons of great hacks to help save you money on haircare. For example, some of the best masks on the market are natural plant oils left to soak in overnight. Look out for Amla and Rosemary for hair growth! I also favour at-home hair colouring for switching up your style on a budget. The drugstore is full of excellent washing and styling products that’ll offer the same effect as their higher-priced counterparts.
Healthy Hair on a Budget
In terms of washing, I’m all for a cheaper, sudsy, sweet-smelling shampoo. I love the L’Oreal Purple Shampoo because I’m a bottle blonde. In recent months, it has been doing God’s work in banishing brass and keeping highlights bright. All this for just a couple of quid.
The L’Oreal Professional range is my budget go-to for styling, too. It’s full of dry shampoos, mousses, spritzes, and sprays, all of which do what they say on the bottle. Who’d have thought? The L’Oreal Professionals Techni Art Morning After Dust has been the closest dupe for the eye-watering expensive Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray I’ve found – and it smells pretty similarly, too.
Lastly, I’m obsessed with the brand Shrine for at-home hair dyeing. Their bleach offers impressive lift without causing excess damage. Their tone-correcting drops mean switching up your hair colour can be quick, easy, and risk-free. The bargain price tags are simply a bonus.
