All ofof thethe bestbest FW26 MFW presentationspresentations

Clearly, I have my suspicions about the future of Milan Fashion Week. Besides the obvious question about longevity, I want to know whether we’re witnessing a talent bottleneck in fashion. That question is all encompassing, but we can focus on Milan since the designers below all presented collections in Italy. FW26 MFW boasted 89 designers who showcased fall-winter 2026 collections in the form of a presentation. It’s not for a lack of trying that we’re not talking about it, weeks after it ended.

Fashion shows give designers the best opportunity for promotion and, therefore, potential sales. We’re able to see what Issey Miyake was doing in the 1990s because of its fashion show. While Issey Miyake is a Japanese maison, the brand’s history and its interaction become all the more easier. We don’t have to waddle through 20-year-old columns that lack the imagery we are accustomed to today. Fashion shows help spread the word that fresh talent is revitalising an industry that verges on stagnation.

A presentation, while fine, has its own benefits over that of a fashion show. You can feel the collection in your hands and speak to the designer about the concept and range selection. It is better for building brand loyalty because customers can build a relationship with the designer. A dying dream due to mass production and the rise of fast fashion. The cost of entry via a presentation is considerably lower than that for a fashion show.

For these reasons, I could argue that we’re not experiencing a talent bottleneck in Milan. However, 89 designers is an eyewatering number of collections to digest. And that’s before we’ve established what makes them unique. Here are the FW26 MFW presentations for you to see in retrospect. To see the fashion shows, click here.
