At SARAHAMA, one of our primary focuses as a team, set out by our Editor in Chief is our mental health. It is important to us to put these matters first. We previously spoke to our friend Imani, about life during Covid-19. Today we speak to our friend, Rachael. All communications were conducted virtually to support social distancing and lockdown restrictions.
Sitting down with British blogger Rachael Boye. Read how she got on below.

SRHMA:
Hello Rachael. How are your spirits?
RB:
I think the first lockdown didn’t affect me too much as I was working. During the second lockdown I decided I need to lose the weight gain of the first lockdown, and was concentrating on my business. This lockdown I’m over it.
SRHMA:
Did the pandemic affect your business?
RB:
Yeah for sure. I don’t think I made any money in 2020 from my business, bu that was probably in part due to me and my lack of motivation for it last year. It was a lot to handle with working in a Dr. Surgery and mustering up the energy for my business too.
SRHMA:
How long have you had your business?
RB:
I run virgo_seven it’s a female empowerment brand selling slogan clothing and accessories. I print everything myself in my house (there’s no team .. yet) and I want women to feel empowered when they wear or own something from the brand. It’s not something they wear once and throw away. I’ve had my business for seven years this month.
SRHMA:
What are you thinking of doing to celebrate?
RB:
I haven’t decided yet as everything will still be closed due to the lockdown. I may do a house zoom with some of my customers.

Style
SRHMA:
Can we speak about your style? How would you describe your style?
RB:
I never know how to answer this question haha, but I think my style is quite fluid. One day I just wanna be in joggers and a t-shirt, but then the bad bitch comes out some days, and I’ll wear an oversized shirt and heels. What Im wearing that day let’s you know what kind of mood I’m in, but I don’t think I have one particular style
“I take bits of each trend and try to make it my own.”
SRHMA:
What trends as of late have been your favourite?
RB:
I’m loving loungewear and joggers at the moment. But I’m also dying to dress up and go out with my friends!
SRHMA:
If lockdown was over tomorrow and the activity of the day was brunch with the girls, what would you wear?
RB:
Oversized shirt, cycle shorts and trainers and a cute bag.
SRHMA:
What about dinner with the girls?
RB:
Blazer dress, cute top, and tights depending on the weather, plus heeled boots.

Fashion
SRHMA:
When did you first get involved in the fashion industry?
RB:
Over 10 years ago. I have a strong retail background experience, with work at magazines and there my own business.
SRHMA:
Do you have any favourite celebrities or industry specialists, whose style has heavily influenced your own?
RB:
I don’t really follow celebrities any more for style inspo! I usually pick up ideas from the ‘gram, but I couldn’t pick one or two people who’s etsyle I’d die for anymore.
SRHMA:
How do you stay up to date on what is trending?
RB:
Usually just Instagram. I used to be a big buyer of magazines but over the years I couldn’t keep up with reading them anymore.
The Future
SRHMA:
Where do you see yourself situated in six months time?
RB:
Hopefully building a team for Virgo Seven. Get to 1,000 followers on my personal Instagram account and hopefully have a holiday booked haha!
SRHMA:
Lovely. Finally, have you got any beauty tips which you can share with our readers?
RB:
Always drink 2ltrs of water per fay, and have an SPF/UV protection in your face cream.
