Gucci FallFall 2024: WhereWhere simplicitysimplicity meetsmeets glamourglamour
A few hours ago, Sabato De Sarno, Creative Director of Gucci, unveiled his second collection to the world. I have drawn some comparisons between the women’s spring 2024 collection and the Gucci fall 2024 collection for men. However, one theme that stands out for Sabato is the combination of simplicity and glamour.
In speaking on the manifesto behind the fall collection, Sabato said:
“It’s a story of joy of life, of passion, of humanity, of people, of real life, of irreverent glamour, of provocation, of confidence, of simplicity, of immediate feelings and emotions, of a specific type of art, of words – words in artworks, words in pictures, words in spaces, just words.”

Gucci’s vision, as envisioned by Sabato, is fresh, energetic, and loud—all key themes for rebranding following Alessandro Michele’s departure. Of course, comparisons between designers are inevitable, but Sabato’s collections make it clear that he has the courage of conviction. Sabato said:
“It is a story of fabulous, diverse people; it’s Getty images of cool people of all ages, and it’s inclusive as in everyone is welcomed.”
If it wasn’t clear that inclusivity is on De Sarno’s agenda for the future, it should be by now.
Gucci’s Creative Director teamed up with British DJ Mark Ronson to create the soundscape for the show. Mark scored the show to Sabato’s liking. Sabato said:
“It’s a story of music and nights out, of sweat, dancing, and singing. It’s a story of family, of kissing, lots and lots of kisses. It’s a story of everything, again, but this time expressed through joy.”
Menswear just got hotter, and I hope Sabato De Sarno’s energy is reflected on the red carpets this year. Fingers crossed the Gucci fall 2024 collection travels far.
I’m unsure what Sabato De Sarno has in mind for Cruise or Couture Week. But it shouldn’t be a crime to expect glamour as the bare minimum. See the collection for yourself below.
