Stylish Ways to Work Out Without Paying a Fortune

Looking cute for the gym is a concept targeted towards young women. The exciting caveat on this concept is that when it comes to the gym, the beauty is all in the outfit. Looking stylish at the gym involves your athleisure and looking as neat as possible.

Granted, this completely contrasts with the purpose of attending the gym. You go to the gym to exercise, often pushing yourself to sweat; otherwise, you’ll feel like you’ve wasted time.

The rise of Gymshark, Lululemon and others pushing for aesthetic gym wear has set the trend for fun and flattering style. However, the go-to sports bra and the legging combination has recently faced some competition.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, athleisurewear has been a trend that refuses to quit. Its prominence accentuates the transition between staying at home and returning to life as it once was. A mixture of streetwear, high fashion and athleisurewear has come to the surface within the world of activewear. Here is my definitive guide on how to work out with style this winter.

Unitards

So, the unitard has been a trend in fashion circles for a while now. Even making its way into many day-to-day wardrobes, likely thanks to Kim Kardashian’s personal style. The unitard is a garment that I have always associated with sport. Particularly in gymnastics, dance, and athletics, the unitard reclaims its rightful place within the exercise world. The unitard’s transition into high fashion this summer has ensured that the look is no longer confined to the gym. You can elevate your gym outfit if you wear this look for your next workout.

Cycling Shorts

This trend is a natural progression from the overwhelming popularity of cycling shorts in recent years. The by-cycle shorts trend was deeply inspired by early 1990s fashion. Public figures such as Princess Diana rocked cycling shorts to the gym and unitards to the creches. This further proves that fashion trends can be revamped and recycled and that it was only a matter of time until unitards made their resurgence.

Tennis Apparel

Tennis skirts have returned to mainstream fashion in recent years, with the preppy style taking over high-street fashion outlets. However, the trend is broader than the preppy street style we have seen all over social media in the past few years. It has also returned in many athleisure brands, such as Lululemon.

My preference for this trend is to focus less on the white pleated mini skirt. More attention should be centred around the more fitted skort-style tennis skirts as donned by Bella Hadid. Similarly, tennis dresses also make a massive comeback to the stylish scene. Once again, Bella Hadid is at the forefront of this athleisurewear trend wearing a similar style in Miami in 2019.

Dior workout equipment

Dior recently teamed up with Technogym to create high-fashion pieces of workout equipment. The equipment includes a treadmill, dumbbells, and an exercise ball. This collection should produce the most stylish and high-quality home gym set-up.

The limited-edition collection features the iconic Christian Dior logo. It comes in black and white for a cohesive and sleek design. The equipment is set to be released in January 2022, so be sure to keep an eye out and act fast, as they will only be available from Dior Boutiques.
