At SARAHAMA, one of our primary focuses as a team, set out by our Editor in Chief is our mental health. It is important to us to put these matters first. We previously spoke to our friend Erica, about life during Covid-19. Today we speak to our friend, Hannah. All communications were conducted virtually to support social distancing and lockdown restrictions.
Sitting down with British blogger Hannah. Read how she got on below.

SRHMA:
How are your spirits Hannah?
HL:
My spirits are mixed. I lost a relative at the beginning of the pandemic, and my mum is vulnerable so that was difficult. At the same time all we can do is stay positive, so I’m keeping myself busy. I’m lucky because I’m a key worker. Others may have lost their job or have been furloughed, so I’m happy that I have a lot to do especially with regards to my blogging.
SRHMA:
What does your stay at home life look like?
HL:
During the pandemic I actually changed job roles as a key worker so there isn’t much to do at home, because I work.
SRHMA:
You balance working and blogging right? How has the experience been for yourself so far?
HL:
It’s been alright because I speak about fashion, and my viewers have been very receptive to that. I am looking to put more content on my instagram in the future too. I show what I want people to see, and my followers are very positive, so its all good!
Style
SRHMA:
How would you define your sense of style?
HL:
Chic and cool. I’m into trainers, and its lockdown at the moment so I’m in a lot of loungewear. I love neutral tones! I’m not against colours, but I want people tone sensible with their money. If you like a garment and it’s lime green in colour, will you be able to wear it in the long run?
“As long as the pieces I’m buying, can be worn with different thing and aren’t just a trend. It makes sense.”
SRHMA:
What are your favourite brands of the moment?
HL:
Ok so it has to be Zara, that’s just what everyone says isn’t it. Asos. I love Asos. H&M is a good one. I like to mix these brands with higher end pieces. I like Urban Outfitters but I wouldn’t say that I shop there all the time. Sportswear is also my thing such as Adidas.
SRHMA:
On your Instagram, you have a few outfits in which you style it with jewellery. Do you layer jewellery, or are you minimalistic.
HL:
I am minimalistic. I’m very fussy with jewellery in that I want it to be what I like, and what I think my followers would like. Sometimes I need to rush out the door, so the minimalism works for me at the moment. I do like hoops though, and it is the goal to invest in more jewellery in the future.

SRHMA:
Have you got any favourite jewellery brands at the moment?
HL:
I’ve been fortunate enough to collaborate with a few brands, such as Anna Lou of London. They sent me a name necklace which I really loved. I’ve heard good things from a brand called Missoma. They’re a few of the brands I’ve been interested in at the moment.
SRHMA:
What is ‘the’ item or look needed in every closet, to make a look look amazing.
HL:
A good coat. Probably from Zara.

SRHMA:
Do you prefer Zara coats or Zara blazers?
HL:
Probably a coat. Though when it’s hot you wouldn’t wear one, so a blazer may be better all year ’round. If you invest in them, and they’re good quality they’ll last you much longer.
Fashion
SRHMA:
We’re seeing a more towards ethical sourced, sustainable clothing from brands. What do you think about that?
HL:
It’s good. Fashion bloggers will now have to think about the clothes they are being offered, and if it is sustainable.
SRHMA:
What should be on our colour palette for spring?
HL:
I think blue. A pastel blue or pale blue; Pastel pink, and potentially yellow. Lovely dresses, inside and outside the house are going to be good as you’ll be comfortable and feel cute. Sandals would be good too, and finally colourful suits!
SRHMA:
Do you prefer to follow trends and fashion, or do you try to focus on style.
HL:
I don’t think it’s wise to follow every trend. Going through my wardrobe, I wouldn’t say that I follow trends, but if I have some pieces which fall into the trend I may hold onto them. Moreover, everyone is influenced by fashion. Pick out the trends which suit you and stick to that.

SRHMA:
Where did your fashion journey start?
HL:
My journey It started when I was 15 and I gained a bit of weight. I got my first job when I was 16 years old in Primark. I then moved onto TOPSHOP and then it went on from there.
SRHMA:
Top three favourite designers?
HL:
The top one has to be Chanel. Every fashion girl dreams of getting their first Chanel bag. Then comes Prada. I think Prada is having a moment right now. Jacquemus too. They’re a newer brand, but I’m experimenting with them at the moment. I’m investing a little into them at the moment so I can gauge what their position will be in fashion in the future.
Inspiration and Beauty
SRHMA:
Are there any people you follow at the moment, who are giving you major inspiration at the moment?
HL:
You’ve got the OG like Patricia Bright. I also like samyjovalentine, femmeblk, jam_illaa, alberitanicki, and charlotteemilysanders.
SRHMA:
What’s one beauty product that you’re loving at the moment?
HL:
Skincare is important because you need a good base for your makeup. For makeup I would say foundation. It may sound basic, but it’s the starting point for every makeup look. Nars Radiant foundation, and MAC are great.

What we love most about Hannah is the advice she gave surrounding investing in quality pieces. This is the advice which is approved by us and our Editor-in-chief as you can never go wrong with good quality garments. Hannah can be found on social media here, and has produced a podcast, which can be found here. Lovely to see that she has been making the most of lockdown, and we can’t wait to catch up with her soon.
