Anne Hathaway has always been a highly adored celebrity. The actress has truly channelled her beloved character Mia Thermopolis, the Princess of Genovia, in her recent looks at Cannes 2022. Said simply, Hathaway stunned on the red carpet this year. She also took an enviable variety of chic outfits to Cannes. Even her airport outfit invoking envy in its onlookers.
The star of The Devil Wears Prada touched down in Nice in an oversized suit and white t-shirt. Anne elevated her simple but effective look with some oversized sunglasses and some white trainers. It served us the effortless chic off a model-off-duty-esque look. The outfit was chic with the true charm of the look being the accessories. Anne wore hexagon sunglasses which stole the show for me -completely! But Hathaway’s fashion success did not stop there; next she took to the red carpet.
Armani & Anne
Hathaway first blew fans away at the premier for Armageddon Time in a stunning Armarni Privé gown. The gown as an angelic white dress with a low-sitting, off the shoulder puff-sleeve detail with an elegant train. Anne’s team paired the gown with the sleeves that made a beautiful silhouette. The unique shape truly made for one of the most elegant gowns to grace Cannes this year. Anne was recently announced as a brand ambassador for Bvlargi. She obviously accessorised the outfit with a beautiful Bvlgari sapphire necklace to top the look off.
Not only did her accessories contribute to her look, but let’s pause whilst we think about Hathaway’s hair. Hathaway has received a lot of praise during the film festival as the star sported voluminous curtain bangs. The bangs give her look a retro and trendy element that perfectly complemented her looks. Her hair flowed perfectly, resting just behind her shoulders. Some sections flowed onto her shoulder and collarbone which allowed the strapless detail of the gown to have its own moment. Not forgetting the giant sapphire necklace that donned the star’s neck.
However, Hathaway’s good hair day did not end there.
Anne & Gucci
Next, the star took to the red carpet yet again. This time in a 60s inspired Gucci mini dress, completed with her perfect hair-do. The actress paired her face-framing bangs with a voluminous up-do that perfectly matched her Gucci dress. Her Gucci dress was inspired by the 1960s mod trend. The dress featured a blue bustier detail that flowed into an a-lined sequin skirt. Fans praised this look claiming that Hathaway is ‘aging backwards’. Many likening her look to the style of her iconic character Andy Sachs from The Devil Wears Prada.
The already perfect look somehow managed to get even better when the star accessorised with yet another pair of statement sunglasses. For this look, Hathaway continued the retro theme by adding a pair of colour block cat-eye sunglasses. The sunglasses completed the look which secured the look into the Cannes Film Festival fashion history books.
That Valentino Moment
Finally, Anne Hathaway left no crumbs in her Valentino look. Staying on trend the actress wore the designer’s current trademark hot pink and platform heels. The look featured a wide-leg jumpsuit with yet another off the shoulder design from Valentino’s FW22 collection. Staying true to Pierpaolo Piccioli’s vision, the monochromatic look allows us to focus on the intricate details of the design. The jumpsuit worn by Anne Hathaway featured a figure-skimming silhouette with the flowing wave of her neckline.
All in all, Cannes Film Festival 2022 has proved that this is Anne Hathaway’s world. The rest of us are just living in it.
